4WD TV: RUBY GAP ADVENTURE Episode 5
It’s sadly the final week of our 5 part mini series covering the East MacDonnell Ranges, Ruby Gap and beyond. This week we depart the warm and welcoming Hale River Homestead and trek north west with empty fuel tanks towards our final stop for the trip, Gem Tree. After settling in with our MDCs in a circle, it’s time to kick back after a hard day on the red dirt and food is a high priority. Camp cooked Pizzas kick off our feast before we head to the Gem Tree dinning hall for their famous camp oven cook up.
The night wraps up with the hilarious YOUR4X4 chocolate awards by the campfire followed by plenty of tall tales of the past days. Our final day sees us trundling east along the Plenty Hwy and then north to the often missed yet wonderfully amazing Tower Rock. The drive in is slow and technical and the climb to the top is a challenge reserved for the brave! Tune in as YOUR4X4 takes you across the outback and farewells another incredible season of exploring our own phenomenal backyard!
